Bell ringer:  Last time we completed the slime lab.  Identify the: Independent variable, dependent variable, control, and controlled variables.
Today we played a game to review controls and variables and then we took our controls and variables test.  Please makeup ASAP.  Next we began taking notes on forms of energy using this powerpoint.

Today we watched Bill Nye "Do it Yourself Science" and then we did a slime lab.  No make up on the slime lab.

September 19

Bell Ringer:  If you were testing which brand of microwave popcorn leaves the fewest unpopped kernals, identify the: Independent Variable, Dependent Variable, and 2 variables that you would need to control.
Today we finished up the "Grow and Insect" lab and the "Controls and Variables" worksheet.  Then we took a quiz on controls and variables.  Last of all students worked on a cup and plate lab where students had to solve a problem I gave to the class (no make-up).

September 11th

Today we didn't have a bell ringer because I haven't finished grading your notebooks.  First of all we reviewed the parts of an experiment and completed this Sponge Bob worksheet.  Next, we did a Moebis Strip activity-get from me.  Last of all we began a paper airplane lab.

September 9th

Today we turned in your notes:  bell ringers, metric mania, mass/weight lab, and what is an inference.  Next, we took a 20 point test on metrics conversions, measuring, and inferences.  Next, we went over some vocabulary using this worksheet and did a hypothesis activity.

September 5th

No bell ringer today.  Today we did a volume lab.  Please arrange a time to make up this lab during Falcon Time or after school.  If you are in B2 we also took a quiz.  Please come after school or during Falcon Time to make up this quiz.  We also watched Bill Nye Measurements at the end of class.

Bell Ringer:  What is the difference between mass and weight?
We talked about the difference between mass (measurement of the amount of matter/grams) and weight (measurement of the force of gravity acting on an object/newtons).  Next, we did a mass/weight lab and then we took a quiz (A1 only A2 ran out of time).  Arrange a time before or after school or during falcon time to make up the lab and take the quiz.
