February 5:  Bell Ringer: Give examples of how humans impact the environment.

February 7:
Today students watched a video and identified the different types of symbiosis shown.
February 11:Today students finished up their endangered animal reports and then they presented them in front of the class.
February 18 
Today we got a new seating chart.
Next we turned in the following notes: notebooks, what's for dinner, flow of resources in an ecosystem, photo/resp 4 square notes, ecology vocabulary
Then we reviewed for the test using whiteboards and then we took the test on food chains and food webs.
Last of all students began growing crystals.

February 20
First we went over the test.  Most students did very well. We had 14 perfect scores!  Next, we had a guest speaker talk to us about geology.

February 24
Bell Ringer:  Why do crystals form?
Today students did a lab where they looked at crystals under the microscope.  Last of all students did a sorting activity where they were given bags with mineral and rock samples.  The students were told to sort the samples into two groups.  At the end we emphasized that rocks are made up of multiple minerals and minerals are pure substances.

February 3

Bell Ringer:  What would happen if you removed the top predator from an ecosystem?
First, students were given their food webs back and they were told to check their arrows.  Next, some students shared their food webs with the class.  Last of all, we watched a movie about wolves in Yellowstone and we talked about the impact of wolves on the Yellowstone ecosystem.
